Welcome to my new hair
my new hair is the pioneering new charity founded by and inspired by Trevor Sorbie MBE.
We provide public advice, and support a national network of independent salons and professionals who provide a wig styling service for people suffering from cancer and medical hair loss. Importantly, each of these professionals have approached us personally. They pledge their commitment to responsible training and provide a caring and respectful service for their clients.
Like many other organisations mynewhair has undergone a review of its infrastructure. This is to ensure we work as efficiently as possible in delivering our core aims to clients and patients, whilst continuing to support our network of hairdressers.
All communications and enquiries should be sent to info@mynewhair.org, or via our helpline on 01798 812547. Address details will follow.
Our website contains information for both hair professionals and people suffering from hair loss on the following:
- locations of my new hair trained salon professionals
- how to become a my new hair salon and be part of our 'salons that care' network
- locations of wig suppliers who have pledged to work with us
- answers to common questions about wearing a wig
- advice on wigs and wig cutting for salons and stylists
- answers to common questions relating to chemotherapy and hair loss
- my new hair's latest news and fundraising initiatives
- Aftercare when hair grows back
HAIR DONATIONS:
At mynewhair we are not directly able to accept hair donations. We would however ask people to contact The Little Princess Trust which is a charity that provides wigs for children with cancer.
Their website is www.littleprincesses.org.uk
"mynewhair is such a simple idea I can't believe that nobody thought of it before! I have witnessed time and time again what an incredible confidence boost a positive body image can give to a woman, simple styling tips that can empower them. For many women their hair is their crowning glory and what makes them feel feminine above everything else. I think that helping women with medical hair loss take their first steps towards looking and ultimately feeling themselves again is just fantastic - Go Trevor!"
