Our Aim
In the interest of those who suffer from hair loss it is our aim to collaborate and work with the UK Wig Suppliers Association (known as the Hair & Beauty Suppliers Association, or HBSA). For a full list of their members please click here http://www.hbsa.uk.com/wigs.html
We will work collecitvely to monitor and encourage the maintenance of high standards of customer service, and in the provision of appropriate guidance and products to clients.
Wig Supplier Information
For clients undergoing treatment for cancer at an NHS hospital, or being treated for other hair loss via a consultant dermatologist, there is likely to be NHS provision of support towards the cost of a wig. This is often referred to as a wig "prescription" and provision differs regionally, therefore at this time we are unable to provide national guidance on this area. For details of entitlement please consult your medical consultant or nurse specialist.
Each of the main UK wig suppliers has local agents and/or offices throughout the UK. The wig supplier details can be accessed via the HBSA website, and local agent contact details can be supplied direct from the wig supplier.
Some my new hair salons are agents for main wig suppliers. These salons are listed with reference to the fact that they also stock wigs in addition to cutting and styling.
Training and Support
my new hair supports named individual HBSA members of suppliers who personally commit to attending our nurse-led communications training programmes. Individual professional representatives from member companies who have attended these are listed by name in our wig suppliers section of our website. my new hair cannot endorse non HBSA members or individuals from member companies who have not attended our training programme.
Please note that to attend our technical training in wig personalisation attendees must be qualified hairdressers.
If you are a wig supplier or UK agent and wish to be associated with my new hair:
- Are you a member of the HBSA or is your supplier a member of the HBSA?
YES - then you could be referred to clients via your wig supplier.
NO - it may be worth you joining the HBSA.
- Are you a trained hairdresser?
YES - you may like to attend our training course and then we will be delighted to add your details to our Salons that Care network.
